The Concert Band The Highlands Ranch Concert Band is a community organization for amateur and professional musicians who want to keep up with their playing. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings. There are two seasons for the Concert Band: summer and indoor concert seasons. Summer concerts occur several times throughout the summer months and feature easily accessible music for all ages. When it starts getting colder, we move indoors to feature more challenging music. Performances are scheduled every other month to allow for sufficient rehearsal time and feature our Veteran’s Day Concert. If you’re interested in checking us out, we encourage you to attend a rehearsal. Please contact our personnel director before attending for more information. Email: Mark Hickman |
Our Directors The Highlands Ranch Concert Band is honored to have Mr. Joe Brice as our Indoor Season director. Joe was named one of the nation’s 10 Best Band Directors and was the director of bands and fine arts coordinator for Smoky Hill High School for 30 years. Responsible for the musical direction for the organization, Joe challenges us with music well suited to the talents of the organization. |

Swing Shift If you’re in the mood for music with a jazzy flair, there’s always the Swing Shift. Our very own jazz band, the Swing Shift consists of some 20 members in a standard jazz band arrangement. Swing Shift is in constant demand as a performing organization during the year. Concerts are scheduled every other month during the indoor season and frequently during the summer season as well. If you are interested in checking out the Swing Shift, please contact the personnel director or the Big Band Manager for more information. Email: Jonathan Bautista or Mark Hickman |

Ensembles Whenever we are called upon to perform for a smaller venue, the Concert Band makes ensembles available. In the past these have included clarinet quartets, flute ensembles and brass ensembles. Although not an official division of the Concert Band, ensembles can come and go whenever needed. For more information, contact our Ensemble coordinator. Email: Susan Akers |
